Does the Arashiyama Ninja Experience Include a Costume?
Compare Ninja Sanctuary’s training-only and costume plans, including shared activities, outdoor costume use and same-day return.
A ninja costume is included only with the Ninja Experience + Costume plan. The training-only Ninja Experience covers blowgun shooting, shuriken throwing, hand seals and photo opportunities, but not costume rental. Both options take place at Ninja Sanctuary in Arashiyama and last 60 minutes.
Training-only vs. costume plan
Choose Ninja Experience for the instructor-led activities without changing into a costume. Choose Ninja Experience + Costume for the same training activities with a rental ninja costume and photos in costume.

What both options include
Both plans include blowgun shooting, shuriken throwing and ninja hand-seal practice with an instructor. Instruction is available in English and Japanese, and the experience includes opportunities to take photos in the ninja setting.

What the costume option adds
The costume plan lets you change into a rental ninja costume before taking part in the activities. You may also leave the venue while wearing the costume, giving you the option to spend part of the day dressed as a ninja outside Ninja Sanctuary.

Which option fits your visit?
The training-only plan suits visitors whose priority is the hands-on instruction. The costume plan is the better fit when dressing up, taking costume photos or going outside in ninja attire is an important part of the experience.
